High-dose vitamin D 10,000 IU - only 1 tablet every 10 days
Fairvital's vitamin D food supplement provides you with high-dose vitamin D3. One tablet contains 10000 IU (250µg) vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol). By storing the fat-soluble vitamin D, it is sufficient to take one tablet every 10 days.
Function of vitamin D
Vitamin D is of great importance for the human organism. A normal vitamin D level supports the calcium and phosphorus absorption in the intestine, which in turn contributes to an adequate calcium level in the blood. In this context, vitamin D promotes the maintenance of normal bones and teeth, because 99% of the calcium in the body is bound in the bones and teeth and it is therefore the mineral that is found most frequently in the organism in terms of quantity .
The muscles are also dependent on an adequate supply of calcium. There the mineral is responsible for muscle contraction. By helping with calcium absorption, vitamin D is therefore essential for muscle function.
In addition to its role as a bone vitamin, vitamin D is also known to be an important vitamin for the immune system. It activates the killer cells, which are responsible for recognizing and eliminating altered body cells. In addition, they fight certain undesirable microorganisms.
Vitamin D is also involved in cell division.
The sunshine vitamin
The body can manufacture the vitamin itself. Vitamin D is actually not a vitamin at all, but a hormone. With sufficient sun or UVB radiation, the body can synthesize large amounts of it from cholesterol in the skin. On a sunny summer day, about a quarter of an hour of sun exposure on the face, hands and forearms is enough to produce several thousand International Units (IU) of vitamin D.
These days, however, the skin is less and less exposed to direct sunlight. Think, for example, of our older fellow citizens, whose everyday life hardly takes place outside. The amount of vitamin D production also depends on the climate, the amount of direct sunlight, the number of pigments in the skin and age.
Vitamin D in food
Vitamin D can only be found in limited quantities in food, which is why the German Society for Nutrition (DGE) recommends vitamin D supplementation. The National Consumption Study II has shown that over 90% of women and over 80% of men are undersupplied with vitamin D3.
Foods with a significant amount of vitamin D include fish (e.g. herring, eel and trout), mushrooms such as porcini and chanterelles, cheese, eggs and margarine enriched with vitamin D.

Das sollte jeder nehmen!
Ich nehme Viamin D schon ein Jahr, 1x1/Woche. Als Anfang des Jahres die Erkältungswelle über Deutschland schwappte und ein Kollege nach dem aneren krank wurde, fragten sie mich. Was machst Du denn, daß Du nicht krank wirst? Also das Einzige was ich anders mache als die Kollegen: ich nehme Vitamin D. Unbedinggt probieren!
